Like the first drops of rain
On an untamed land
soothed and caressed
the fighting beast.
You -
Like the undying embers
Of a wild forest fire
fought and tempted
the God within.
You -
Like the lone leaf
Braving the autumn winds
trembled and tried
to resurrect Hope
You -
Like an unhealing gash
poke and burn
refusing to remain
just a sweet memory.
