Call of the wild

To the jungle, to the jungle
wailed the soul within;
where ducks and giraffes
exchanged stories
and crows sang louder than koels.

To the jungle, to the jungle
cried the tired body;
where the dew bathed grass
was inviting and comforting
than any soft mattress.

To the jungle, to the jungle
whispered the lost life;
where soft breezes
and rough pebbles
lighted dying embers.

To the jungle, to the jungle
begged the longing heart;
where wild streams
and unforgotten dodos
filled the heart with songs.
