Ode to New York City

Never knew what I missed,
Till I walked into

The kiss in your eyes
Burnt my skin
As I held your stare,

deep and all knowing.

We danced with passion
Under lights;
Stilettos clicking
To the latest tune.

Like the caress of a past lover
Felt in a new dream,
You awoke the beast in me,
a beast lost to shadows.

Now alone I sit
In aching darkness,
Fingers searching my empty world,
For a sign of that pulse.
Of Life.

P.S: Written after my recent trip to NYC, spent in the company of Her Highness Princess Duck. We had tons of rillocking fun and it made me realize, "Once a city girl, always a city girl." I miss Chennai!

Hmm.. Back after a while myself. That was a good letter above. WOnder why you blocked comments there.
My relationship with God is that of peaceful co-existence. I dont disturb/ask/plead to him(her/it but for convenience sakes will stick to him) and dont expect him to help/answer me either. I do not know if it is the best strategy to adopt. But I'd rather let him do his own thing while I do mine. And I'd like to think it works for me..:)

Hi All,

For all you folks in the US, here is a new option for
getting the cheapest fares to fly back to India for
your visits. Its a new technology online fare
consolidator called Cfares -

I signed up for their platinum membership, and it’s an awesome deal!!! I traveled from NYC to New Delhi.. and compared to my regular travel agent, I saved $584!! Compare that to my old rate of $1,394.. I paid just over $800 for my ticket!!
Ask everyone to register using this URL… the platinum membership is paid, but for what you’ll want to sign up..

I LOVE NYC!! Been there a few times...and it always makes me feel so alive and like a completely different person altogether. I used to pretend to be 'felicity' at Dean & Deluca... Carrie with a martini at Blue Fin on and so forth. I think it's best explored with some good girlfriends. I miss NYC.

@Ibh: I know! I feel the city is like a drug that grows on you andmakes you want more :) How is the baby?

@Shankari: Oh yes! you have no idea how many ppl are there who write letters to God :D

@Rt: Hmm...i know eventually He'll do what he deems is best for me but I always like to hear my voice too :)

@Vee: Yeah I agree. Even tho the city is romantic, I somehow had teh best time when I was with my girlfriends :)You should come here sometime, so we can do the same :)
